I was really loving the fan brush stripey nails from my last post, so I thought I would do another take on the fan brush technique – variations on a theme. I love the textured effect you can create with a fan brush – it’s really simple, just sloppy lines, but I think it’s such an interesting texture. I think it looks kind of like fabric.
I polished my nails with 3 coats of Essence Off to Miami! It’s very pretty orange-leaning coral, which really makes me think of summer time. I dipped the tip of my fan brush into Zoya Charisma, which has really made its way onto my favorite nail polish list (I should start keeping a favorites list – it seems like there are some polishes that I use in so many of my manicures… a few would be: Zoya Charisma, American Apparel Hassid, OPI Mod About You), and swiped it across my nail horizontally and vertically. I got some polish on my cuticles, and had to do some more aggressive clean up. Then I went in with my It’s So Easy Striper in black, and I tried to make the lines at the tips go very subtly diagonally. I topped it all off with a layer of KBShimmer topcoat, and then a layer of NYC Matte Me Crazy.
