I am beyond excited for this review. You see, I have been eyeing this watch for ages (I think ever since I saw Chickettes wearing hers at Cosmoprof last year!). When JORD contacted me for a review, I jumped at the opportunity. Especially since all of my jewelry was stolen in September, I have been very slowly rebuilding my accessory collection – I’ve been watch-less since then! Here’s my JORD watch review.
I picked the Fieldcrest model in Maple. I just love the simplicity of this watch – the gorgeousness of this blonde wood – ah! It’s so pretty. Now, JORD can size your watch for you before it arrives, which is really useful! Unfortunately, I’m not sure if I measured wrong or what, but my watch didn’t fit right when it arrived. JORD recommends bringing your watch to a jeweler, but I found some tutorials online and added in an extra link (it came with two). It was a little tricky, but definitely do-able!
The fun thing about a such a gorgeous accessory is pairing it with fun nail art! I know lots of people would probably do some woodgrain nail art to match – but I thought the cool thing about this watch is that I could pair it with some more complex nail art. It’s like – simple eye makeup plus a bold lip. You know what I mean?
These nails are gels – though I’m pretty sure this would work with regular nail polish, too. I basically did a blobicure. Some bubbles got into the mix, but I kind of liked how that turned out. It wasn’t exactly what I was going for, but it looks kind of cool, right? I used Couture Gel – first I applied and cured the base coat. Then I applied one coat of Little Black Dress and dotted in the base coat before curing. Top coat, cure, and voila!I think JORD watches are simply lovely. I am loving mine, and have been wearing it pretty much nonstop since I got it. At $120, it’s a beautiful piece that I would absolutely recommend. There are other gorgeous models – with other interesting colors and shapes, and I love them all!
