Today is a very busy day, and I’m a busy girl. I’m collaborating with some FAB bloggers to host #BusyGirlNails on Instagram and it’s also the Digital Dozen Spooky Days! It’s not an official Digital Dozen week, but just some time for extra fun Halloween nail art looks. Why not? The #BusyGirlNails challenge theme for today is sponged nail looks – and nothing says sponged more than a gradient. Now, my friend at the Lacquerologist did an awesome candy corn gradient – so cool, right? I decided to do something that’s mashes up to colors that don’t normally mash up together. Because that’s what Halloween is all about. Or… something? I love a nice gradient, and I haven’t done one in quite a while. Plus, it’s definitely a busy girl kind of look – it’s themed for this week, but it’s not too fussy or time intensive. I’m into these Halloween Nails!
I applied one thick-ish coat of Essie Fear or Desire (perfect for Halloweeeeeen!). Then I turned to my trusty Liquid Palisade to protect my cuticles during the gradient process. I used a makeup sponge to add on some Renaissance Cosmetics The Danforth – so pretty and shimmery and lovely (and full swatch forthcoming). Once that was done, I applied a layer of Seche Vite followed by a coat of OPI Matte Top Coat. I love how this looks mattified! Matte all the things, indeed.
So, what do you think of this gradient? Is it the perfect look for a Busy Girl on Halloween? Join in the fun on Instagram and post your own #BusyGirlNails, too!
