I can’t believe it’s already been a month since the last Digital Dozen theme! This time, the Digital Dozen are all doing decades. I absolutely love this theme – and I have some really fun nail art looks planned for the rest of the week. Since I have a whole week of decade themed posts, I thought I would kick things off with a BANG! The Big Bang, that is! After all, we could probably count that as the first decade (or… first 1,000 decades, or… seconds? I have no sense of time, but I’m pretty sure the universe is still expanding, so…. help a girl out). Since I’ve done galaxy nails before, I decided to try my hand at pastel galaxy nail art – and contrasting with the black emptiness, I thought it really looked like the expanding and exploding universe!
For this look, I started with a base of American Apparel Hassid on my thumb and pinky fingers, and half of my index and ring fingers. Then I applied Zoya Purity to the other half of my index and ring fingers, and to my entire middle finger nail. I sponged on Illamasqua Jo’Mina, OPI Mod About You, OPI Can’t Find My Czechbook, and Illamasqua Milf. I dabbed on some Sephora by OPI It’s Real 18k Gold Topcoat, drew some stars with Purity, and covered everything with a thick layer of Seche Vite. While the topcoat was still wet, I added in some star and round rhinestones.
So this was a fun way to start out the week! Don’t worry, I’ll have some more iconic and recognizable decades coming up!
