The Dalai Lama's Nails: The Digital Dozen does Countries and Cultures - day 4 Jerusalem

All aboard! Our next destination on this whirlwind adventure is Jerusalem. We’ve already been to Thailand, Prague, and the Grand Canyon – we’re going far and wide, this week. I shouldn’t need to say this, but I will – this post is not political. There’s a lot going on in Israel these days, but this post is not about that. It’s about a beautiful place that I love to visit.

Nail art inspired by Jerusalem I have been to Israel 5 times, and have spent the most time in Jerusalem. It’s a beautiful city, and the fact that it’s so old means that there are fascinating relics and sites. The one I have seen the most is the Western Wall, or Kotel in Hebrew. I remember the first time I visited – I had a real feeling of awe to be standing in front of such an ancient place.

For this look, I began by applying two-ish coats of OPI Don’t Pretzel My Buttons, which has become one of my all time favorite nudes. It’s just so good! I sponged on random splotches of NYC Brownstone, and drew in the lines of the stone with Revlon Dominate. Can you tell I don’t own a lot of brown shades?! I sponged on some Zoya Josie, because sometimes you can see bits of bushes and green growing from between the stones. I topped everything with Loreal Matte Magic.

  • I have to admit a twinge of jealousy. I’ve always wanted to see Jerusalem but I’m not sure I’ll ever really be able to go. It’s really awesome that you’re able to translate your experiences into your nail art. Well done!

    • That’s the coolest thing about art, in my opinion 🙂 It’s a real expression of life’s experiences. In addition to being pretty.
