Today I have a partial collection to share with you – it’s the Brooke Anderson by Gabriel Cosmetics collection. The six polishes that make up this collection are all 5-free and inspired by the south. I’m always excited when I discover 5-free polishes. I have three of the six polishes to share with you today!
First up is Blue Belle, which is a shimmery cobalt blue polish. I really like the depth of this shade, and the color is really striking. I found the formula to be a little thicker than I would like, but still workable. This is two coats, with topcoat.
Southern Belle is a red-toned purple. I like this shade for winter! The formula was much thinner than Blue Belle – I had some pooling in my cuticles, so be careful with application! This is two coats, with top coat.
Darlin’ is a green jelly base with blue, silver, and purple glitters. It’s a very pretty combination! It builds up to opacity in two coats, but it is a little thick. I think it works better as a glitter topper over a solid base. In the photo below, I layered it over two coats of Blue Belle, and I love the affect, much more than on its own!
One other thing I want to talk about: the bottle caps! I’ve seen polishes with square caps that you can remove, so that when you’re applying the polish you don’t have to try to hold an unwieldy bottle cap (like Butter London, for example). I wasn’t able to remove the square part of the cap, and I found it a bit difficult to hold and apply.
The Brooke Anderson for Gabriel Cosmetic polishes retail on the Gabriel website for $8.50 each, and I just noticed that the set is on sale for $38.50!
