It’s the galaxy day for the 31 Day Challenge! I really love galaxy nails – so pretty! I think the idea is super cool, and I was excited for this prompt. I poured over NASA photos of galaxies, admiring all the colors and shapes. I decided to do a more abstract shape, though I bet a galaxy with spiral arms would look really neat, too!
To create this look, I started with two coats of Zoya Storm, since its holo sparkles are already kind of galaxy-like. Once that had some time to dry, I used a pair of tweezers to grasp small bits of a make up sponge I’d torn into little pieces, dipping the sponge bits into polish and dabbing little splotches on my nails. I did that using a ton of colors: Sation Board Girl Blue, Sation Tardy Party, Sation Miss Emo Shun All, Sation Fan the Flames Fuchsia, China Glaze First Mate, and Cult Nails Charlatan for some more shine. Then I used a toothpick to dot on the small stars using China Glaze White On White, and a small detailing brush to draw on the bigger star flares. After sealing it all in with a coat of Sally Hansen Insta Dri, I added on a coat of Loreal The Matte Velvet matte top coat. Voila!
I think galaxy nails are SO fun. They’re also ridiculously easy to do, you just blob on some polish and call it a day. And even though you need to use a bunch of colors, you use very little polish to create a neat design. Love it!
